Type 2 Diabetes is the most common form of diabetes. In type 2 diabetes, either the body does not produce enough insulin or the cells ignore the insulin. Insulin is necessary for the body to be able to use glucose for energy.
Designed for newly diagnosed patients with type 2 diabetes, our monthly “Learning the ABC’s of Diabetes” class is taught by our board certified endocrinologist and certified diabetes educator. A common acronym, the “ABC’s” represent A1c, blood pressure, and cholesterol, three fundamental elements in managing diabetes. Diet and lifestyle changes are also addressed.
This class is held on the 2nd Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. in Ashburn. Classes are $35 per person and 72-hour advanced registration is required. A minimum of 3 patients must be registered for the class to be held. To register, please call 703.554.1100. Seating is limited.
