Registered Dietitian Nicole Holovach urges you not to be afraid of vegetables in your smoothie – especially in this dessert-like concoction. Even if you don’t like pumpkin pie, you’ll love the texture and sweetness of this healthy, filling smoothie.
- 1.5 cups of milk or unsweetened almond milk (Vanilla almond milk is great here!)
- 1 cup canned pumpkin puree (Not pumpkin pie filling!)
- 1 Banana
- 1 Tablespoon of maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice OR 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon, 1/4 tsp ground ginger, 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg, pinch of ground cloves
Chill milk, pumpkin and banana. Blend all ingredients in a high-speed blender until smooth.
