Nursing

Nova's nursing team consists of 47 hard working, compassionate individuals. Every nurse at Nova Medical & Urgent Care Center, Inc. is a certified Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Registered Nurse (RN), or Medical Assistant (MA) and works alongside our medical providers. They are here to help provide each patient with high quality, efficient, and sensitive medical care. The nursing team at each site is overseen by a Nurse Team Lead. Meet Nova's Nurse Team Leads

Michelle Perry, LPN (Left), Edna Algie-Hoppes, LPN (Center), Tara Pitt, LPN (Right)


Edna Algie-Hoppes, LPN
Edna Algie-Hoppes, LPN is the Nurse Team Lead for our Leesburg office. She has lived in Loudoun County for more than 40 years and graduated from Broad Run High School in Ashburn, VA. She received her nursing degree from the Richmond School of Nursing in Richmond, VA and has been in the nursing industry for more than 30 years. Before joining Nova Medical Group, she worked in a wide variety of fields including family medicine, obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN), ear nose and throat (ENT), nephrology, pediatrics, and emergency medicine. She has also worked for the U.S. Navy in their allergy and immunization clinics.

Edna is also currently serves as the Rescue Chief and a medic for Company 9, an affiliate of the Loudoun County Fire and Rescue Department. Edna has two children and one grandchild who are the loves of her life. She currently resides in Leesburg.


Michelle Perry, LPN
Michelle Perry, LPN is the Nurse Team Lead for our Ashburn office. She grew up in Leesburg VA, graduating from Loudoun County High School in 1992. She received her certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in 2007 from Loudoun County School of Practical Nursing. Prior to nursing school, she worked at Chesterbrook Academy Elementary School as an administrative assistant for nine years. She then became a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) in 2003. During nursing school, she worked as a CNA at Inova Loudoun Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Leesburg, VA where she realized that nursing was her calling in life.

Michelle began working at Nova Medical & Urgent Care Center, Inc. in 2007 and became team lead for our Leesburg office shortly after. In 2009, she transferred to our Ashburn location as team lead. She enjoys working with the nurses to provide quality customer service. She currently resides in Front Royal, VA.


Tara Pitt, LPN
Tara Pitt, LPN is the Nurse Team Lead for our Sterling office. She is a native of Loudoun County, graduating from Park View High School in Sterling, VA in 2003. She later attended the Loudoun County School of Practical Nursing where she received her certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in 2007. While in nursing school, Tara worked as an Emergency Room nursing technician for Reston Hospital Center where she gained valuable experience in preparation for her nursing career.

Tara joined Nova Medical & Urgent Care Center, Inc. in 2007 and has been the team lead for our Sterling office since 2008. In her spare time, Tara continues her nursing education at Nova and also volunteers with the Medical Reserve Corp in Loudoun County. Tara enjoys being a nurse because she has the opportunity to help others on a daily basis; she loves bringing a smile to patients' faces.


Nova Medical Group Amanda Mindrup, RN, BSN
Amanda Mindrup, RN, BSN is the Nurse Team Lead for our triage/refills department in the Ashburn office. She is originally from Olathe, KS and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bethel College in North Newton, KS in 2009. She relocated to Northern Virginia in the fall of 2009 and joined Nova Medical & Urgent Care Center, Inc. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys biking, skiing, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
